3. No Medical Benefits/Insurance: A patient may not have any
kind of health insurance to qualify for MCAC.
· A patient may not have any kind of health insurance
to qualify for MCAC. This includes drug plans, catastrophic hospital
insurance and any other kind of plan no matter how limited the
plan. The patient will be asked to disclose employer-sponsored
insurance that is available. Opting out of employer offered insurance
for financial or other reasons does not automatically exclude
a patient from MAP.
· A patient may not have Medicaid or Medicare or any other
medical benefit through the Family Independence Agency, with the
exception of enrollment into a Spend-Down program. If a patient
is on a Spend-Down program, they may be eligible for MAP until
their Spend-Down amount is reached. They may automatically be
reinstated into the MAP at the beginning of the new Spend-Down
time period by notifying MCAC. For More information, please click
on Medicaid
Spend Down.
