Does SMP Fade?

Does SMP Fade?

SMP or scalp micropigmentation is one of the most common non-surgical hair loss treatments. The procedure depends on the deposition of pigments, which enhances the scalp’s hair follicles. SMP is different from a hair tattoo. It is a more effective and healthier choice.

Does SMP Fade? The injected pigment fades slightly over time. SMP fading is normal. There is no pigment that will stay on the scalp forever.
After 4 to 5 years of SMP, your scalp will need a touchup.

SMP must be done by highly skilled artists – make sure you do your due diligence and do your research on your artist and their business.

After each session, the SMP artist should inform you of the following instructions.
1. Avoid Sweating
After each session, you must avoid sweating excessively. Avoid physical activities, going such as working out. Excessive sweating can prevent the healing process of SMP.

2. Showers
Showers are not allowed in the first 4 to 5 days after each session. Even when you start showering, you should not use shampoos that contain high amounts of alcohol. Avoid exfoliating your scalp during the first week. Even after the first week, you should use high-quality baby shampoos.

3. Avoid Sunlight
SMP is very sensitive in the first 4 to 7 days. Protect your scalp from the sunlight and UV rays to allow your scalp to heal quickly.

4. Avoid Water
Water is full of bacteria that may get into the pores of your scalp. SMP depends on tiny wounds on the scalp. You should keep these wounds clean all the time so that they can heal faster and properly. Avoid going to pools, saunas, or washing your head.

5. Avoid Bacterial Infections
Make sure that you avoid bacterial infections and exposure to areas where bacteria grow. For example, gyms are places where bacteria grow everywhere. You do not want any germs near your scalp during the healing process. SMP needs a break from sweating and germs.

6. Hats and Sunscreen
Wearing hats, especially if you are exposed to the sun for a long time daily, is important. Try to get hats that are not too tight on your scalp. Also, applying a high-quality sunscreen is important to protect your skin and SMP.

7. Touch Ups
SMP lasts for about 10 years. However, you will need a touch-up every 5 years to maintain the results. Some people do not want to get touch-ups. If you follow the previous tips, you will not need any touch-ups before 8 to 10 years.
The tips extend the lifespan of your Scalp micropigmentation.

What are the Different Microblading Styles?

What are the Different Microblading Styles?

As reported by Marcia, microblading gives an illusion of fuller and fluffy eyebrows. There are many different microblading styles for eyebrows. These styles are basically variations of microblading. Eyebrows frame the face. Well shaped eyebrows provide symmetry and balance to give a youthful look.

Microblading

This technique is also called eyebrow embroidery. In this method, professionals use very fine needles to inject the skin with some pigments. These pigments only reach upper layers of the skin, so microblading is not permanent. It fades away over time but still has an impressive lifespan which may extend up to three years. The fine tip of the needle replicates natural looking hair strokes. You should consult an expert while selecting the colour of pigments to use for microblading. Dark black, light brown or other similar shades can be used to complement your complexion. Microblading is ideal for those looking to have a natural brow look.

Microfeathering

This style is a variation of microblading. Microfeathering is ideal for light fill ups in the natural eyebrows. This technique was pioneered by Kristie Streicher. In microfeathering no needles are used and the artist uses a very fine blade to create tiny incisions in the skin. These incisions are implanted with pigments and it creates an illusion of natural looking eyebrow hair. Microfeathering is a little expensive. It does not last as long as microblading. Microfeathering usually fades away in eight to twelve months.

Microshading

This style is also considerably similar to microblading, but the technique used to cover eyebrows by microshading is a bit different. Instead of creating hair strokes, small repetitive pin points are created on the brow area. Pigments are injected into these pin points to create fuller eyebrows. This technique allows the pigments to settle better in oily and sensitive skin. It gives a semi-permanent look and is also called Powder brows. Microshaded brows require less maintenance and can last as long as microbladed brows.

You can also go for 3D hair simulated brows, ombre brows and henna brows. Each style will give a unique look to your eyebrows.
